According to the Pakistani media three Swedes were among the arrested. Ellinor Lundmark, press officer at the Swedish foreign ministry, has been trying to confirm the reports.
A representative from the Police force went on TV to acknowledge that they did have suspects in custody, and that they were linked to the al-Qaida terrorist network.
The reports of three of the suspects being from Sweden are as yet unconfirmed.
